What Is A Customer?

I want to rev-up your commitment to your customers with a common sense approach to customer serviceby helping you o understand what a customer is.

WHAT IS A CUSTOMER?

The lawyer calls him a
CLIENT.
The doctor calls him a
PATIENT.
The hotel calls him a
GUEST.
The editor calls him a
SUBSCRIBER.
The broadcaster calls him a
LISTENER-VIEWER.
The retailer calls him a
SHOPPER.
The educator calls him a
STUDENT.
The manufacturer calls him a
DEALER.
The politician calls him a
VOTER.
The banker calls him a
DEPOSITOR/BORROWER.
The sports promoter calls him a
FAN.
The railroad executive calls him a
PASSENGER.
The minister calls him a
PARISHIONER.
No matter what our business is, we are all in customer service.

THE MAKE IT OR BREAK IT FACTOR

The truth about it is the customer is your reason for being therefore the most important product in every business is customer service. People remember great service, and unfortunately they remember poor service even more. Ideal Customer Service is a “make it or break it” fact of business life. Remember customer service is just as much a part of business as the product being sold.

Two Types of Customers

1. Internal – anybody within the organization that
depends on us for service
2. External – people who pay for our products and
services
